The VMI Wiki is a collaborative website about the Virginia Military Institute that anyone can edit! VMI is a four-year military college located in Lexington, Virginia. It it also the oldest state-supported military college in the nation. Formed in 1839, the enrollment currently is around 1,500. The current superintendent is J.H. Binford Peay III, who became VMI's 14th superintendent in 2003. The school nickname is the Keydets, and 17 VMI sports compete in the NCAA Division I. The institute has gone through the Civil War, World War I, and World War II, but has managed to stay among the top-ranked public colleges in the nation. VMI's campus covers ove 130 acres, and hopefully more to come in the future.
